Whitefield Ashram in Bangalore

Whitefield Ashram, Bangalore is a religious retreat that was founded by Sri Satya Sai Baba, a famous holy saint in India. The ashram is situated in the outskirts of the main city is visited by a large number of devotees.

The Whitefield Ashram, Bangalore is also known as ‘Brindavan’. Whitefield is an area located in the outskirts of the city and is often considered as a rural area. Part from the ashram, you can also find a Super Speciality Hospital and the International Technology Park, where a large number of computer companies are located.

Whitefield Ashram in Bangalore offers a calm and serene atmosphere, which is absolutely perfect for meditation and self-realization. Here you can meet Sri Satya Sai Baba. Sai Baba comes to this ashram during the hot summer months. Meeting times are from 7:00 in the morning till 7:30 in the morning. You can attend the “bhajans” or devotional song sessions held over here. You can attend the religious discourses held over here or the ceremonies conducted over here. Apart from these, you can also attend the Nagarsankirten, held by the devotees every Thursday and Sunday. People are expected to maintain silence and decorum inside the ashram premises. One is also expected to wear decent clothing over here. The ashram also has a hostel where students can stay. There is a beautiful image of Goddess Saraswati facing the student’s hotel in the ashram.

The Whitefield Ashram, Bangalore also has accommodation facilities for people planning to pay a visit to this holy place. The rates are nominal and the facilities offered are good. You can find a canteen over here where you can get to eat Indian as well as western food. There is also a bookshop inside the ashram premise form where you can buy a large number of books dealing with the life and works of his holiness Sri Satya Sai Baba as well as books on religious philosophies and doctrines.

Whitefield Ashram Comprises of the following main edifices :

Trayee Brindavan
Trayee Brindavan is the residence of Sri Sathya Sai Baba in Whitefield. He stays here whenever he comes to Bangalore. It is a beautiful, lotus shaped, building in pink and yellow and was inaugurated by Baba on 26th April 1984.

Sai Ramesh Krishan Hall
Sai Ramesh Krishan Hall was built in the year 1992 and houses a captivating statue of Lord Krishna. It is here that Baba gives darshan, when he is in Whitefield. The hall also serves as the venue for bhajans as well as festivities held during the stay of Baba.

Brindavan Campus
The campus of Sri Sathya Sai Institute of Higher Learning is situated inside the premises of the ashram. There is also a hostel for students inside the ashram complex, adjoining Sai Ramesh Krishan Hall.

Sai Krishan Kalyana Mandapam
Sai Krishan Kalyana Mandapam is an auditorium, located between the Student’s hostel and Trayee Brindavan. It was inaugurated on 25th March 1999 and is used for holding cultural programs and conferences.
