Ground Zero

Ground Zero is the 16-acre site on Lower Manhattan that, until the tragic events of September 11, 2001, was home to the twin towers of the World Trade Center. America’s most sacred ground is now a construction site, as the frames of the Libeskind Memory Foundation take shape. The planned redevelopment includes several World Center tower buildings, a memorial museum, and landscaped plaza. The original footprints of the two former World Trade Center towers will be preserved as reflecting pools. Whether you take a walking tour, drop into the nearby Ground Zero Museum Workshop or view the tributes on nearby Church Street, a visit to Ground Zero is an emotional, numbing experience that’s not soon forgotten. It’s a site for reflection and respect rather than snapping photographs.

History of Ground Zero

Tourists attracted to Ground zero by the abundance of Sept. 11 coverage may notice that the history panels are back. But this time they cannot be scribbled on Place for holidays. The panels — six-foot-wide depictions of the history of the World Trade Center site, its towers and their demise — started going up on Sept. 11, 2002, when the new fence that ringed ground zero was dedicated. In June, the eye-level panels, which had grown in number to 30, were removed because they had been made nearly unreadable by graffiti, which collected exponentially on them. While most of the messages were heartfelt expressions of regret and concern about the terrorist attacks, they nevertheless managed to obscure the panels’ historic images and explanatory text, which included the architectural and commercial history of the site, the construction of the twin towers, the 1993 terrorist bombing and the 2001 attack. Now, duplicates of the original panels are back, along with 40 new ones. They have been installed seven feet above the sidewalk on the upper zone of the $9 million fence of gridded galvanized steel, called the viewing wall, which was built last year.

Why Should We Go of  Ground Zero

Although the Ground Zero Building is the site of the tragic 9/11 events, it’s now a place to pay respects to the victims of the 9/11 attacks and to honor the lives of American heroes. The 9/11 site allows visitors from all over the world to pay respects to those lost in the tragic 9/11 attacks. Ground Zero NYC is the exact location of the tragedy in the Financial District and can be an emotional experience for many people. Ground Zero is a Adventure Place For Vacations. Currently Ground Zero Building site is where you will find construction of new World Trade Center buildings as well as the September 11 Memorial and Museum. While the 9/11 Museum is not open yet, it shows progress, strength and re-growth of the American spirit.
